With JiJi Self Service Password Reset, active directory users can be notified about their account or password expiration in advance through email / SMS.
On using Password Expiration Notification system, the following password or account email notifications are provided:
- Notification to user before ‘N’ days of password or account expiration
- Notification to user’s manager before ‘N’ days of user’s password or account expiration
- Notification to administrator with a summary of active directory password or account expiration
Some of the key features of the system are:
- You can draft/edit the content of email notifications using macros and add branding aspects
- You can customise by editing content, changing its styles and by inserting images or logo
- You can send multiple notification messages to warn the user about password or account expiration
- You can send multilingual notifications based on ‘preferred language’ of the user in AD attribute
Policy Based Notification
Administrators can create separate policies for specified target or users set, for example - VPN users, Outlook Web Access (OWA) user, Mac / Linux Users, File share users or based on specified target (Domain, an OU, Group, Set of Users). Different email notifications are generated depending on the target users.
User Notification
You can determine how frequently the email reminders will be sent and how many days prior to the expiry date this notification will reach to selected users.
JiJi Password Expiration Notification provides an interface to administrators for planning and customising proper intervals while sending the email notifications to individual user. You can also use the integrated in-built reporter to generate password or account expiration report. This will inform the status of password expiration for each user.
Administrator and Manager Notification
If user overlooks the password expiration email notification, it is the responsibility of administrator or user’s manager to remind about the password change message.So, JiJi Password Expiration Notification sends e-mail alert about a user’s password expiration to his/her manager or administrator. It can even send a consolidated single report to the registered email addresses of users, who are under that specific administrator or manager.
Customise and Brand Alert Email
Administrators can customise content of the notification email with their own company logo using Email Editor.
JiJi Password Expiration Notification offers following functionalities that help to customise and insert brand element in the alert mail:
- Provision to edit the email content for users, managers and administrators using macros from the improved email editor, integrated with the JiJi Password Expiration Notification system.
- Features like text alignment, adding logo for branding, editing background colour, hyperlink content and so on are also supported by our email editor.
- Functionality like enabling password complexity information can also be incorporated in the emails sent to users.
Support for Fine Grained Password Policies
JiJi Password Expiration Notification supports Fine Grained Password Policy from Windows Server 2008 and higher versions. Fine grained password policies are used for defining unique password policies for different sets of users in an AD domain. JiJi Password Expiration Notification can resolve issues concerning passwords in each of these policies by automatically sending expiration notifications. This helps administrators to create separate notification policies for users with different password expiry dates.
